Shift Privacy Policy

Shift: Manifest Your Dreams is provided by Cain Software, LLC. This policy explains how information is handled when you use Shift. We do not send your private practice content to advertising partners.
Your private practice
Your onboarding answers, preferred name, pronouns, intentions, goals, journal entries, small wins, practice history, liked affirmations, and reminder preferences are stored on your device. Shift does not send this content to its analytics or attribution services. No account is required. Reminders are optional local notifications.
Purchases
Apple processes App Store payments. RevenueCat helps validate purchases, restore purchases, and manage membership access. It processes an anonymous app user identifier, transaction and product identifiers, purchase history, subscription status, and related device and store information. Shift does not receive your payment card details.
App usage and attribution
PostHog measures app activity, including screen views, app opens, paywall outcomes, and use of like and share controls. It processes a random device-local identifier and basic app and device information. We disable session replay and geographic enrichment. We do not send the text of affirmations or personal onboarding answers with these events.
AppsFlyer measures app installs and sessions to help us understand how people discover Shift. It may process app and device identifiers, IP addresses, and attribution information. Versions before 1.0.2 disable advertising-identifier collection and advertising-partner sharing. Starting with version 1.0.2, Shift asks for permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you allow tracking, RevenueCat and AppsFlyer process device identifiers (including the advertising and vendor identifiers), IP address, install attribution, and subscription events such as trial starts, paid conversions, renewals, and refunds. AppsFlyer shares permitted install and subscription events with Meta and TikTok to measure and improve our advertising. We do not send your journal entries, intentions, goals, affirmation text, or other private practice content to Meta or TikTok.
Regardless of your tracking choice, RevenueCat and AppsFlyer use a random AppsFlyer install identifier to connect purchases with installs for our analytics and Apple’s privacy-preserving aggregate advertising measurement (SKAdNetwork). Apple’s aggregate postbacks may be shared with advertising networks without an advertising identifier. If you decline tracking, Shift disables advertising-identifier collection and individual-user postbacks to advertising partners. It does not attach advertising identifiers, vendor identifiers, or an IP address to RevenueCat for advertising attribution. Your choice does not affect membership access, purchases, or the price of your subscription. You can change your choice in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security, then Tracking. Shift rechecks your choice when the app returns to the foreground. Changes to server reporting take effect after the app successfully syncs; previously processed information is not automatically erased.
Sharing and support
When you use the system share sheet, you choose the recipient or app that receives the selected affirmation. If you email support, we receive the contact information and message you send and use them to respond. Please do not include sensitive personal information in a support request.

Retention and choices
Local practice information remains on your device until you remove the app or its data. Operating-system backups may retain copies according to your device settings. Service-provider records are retained as needed to provide the service, manage purchases, resolve issues, and meet applicable obligations. You can contact us to request access to or deletion of information we can associate with you. Because Shift does not require an account, we may need additional information to locate anonymous service records.
You can disable notification permission in device Settings. Deleting Shift does not cancel an Apple subscription. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings.
Children and changes
Shift is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information to us. We may update this policy as the app changes and will revise the effective date above.
